With almost two decades of experience working directly with the makers of iMIS EMS, I bring a rare combination of fundraising expertise and deep platform knowledge to the clients I serve. I’ve spent years helping organizations use iMIS not just as a database, but as a strategic tool that powers real fundraising results.
Before founding Boost It Up, I worked in nearly every corner of a development department, including special events, donor relations, major gifts and database management. This first hand fundraising experiences helps me see how strategy and system work together.
I learned early on that iMIS could be adapted or ‘bent’ to match what a client needs and I’ve been doing that ever since. Whether it’s optimizing Moves Management, building campaigns or designing stewardship and reporting that actually gets used, my focus is always on making iMIS work the way you need it to.
About Sarah Hoddinott, Principal Consultant
Why It Matters
Fundraising technology should reduce friction, clarify insight, and strengthen relationships rather than create more work or confusion. I approach every project with practicality, curiosity, and a deep respect for the people behind the data.
My differentiator is simple: I am a fundraiser first and a technologist second. That foundation shapes every configuration decision. We build systems that reflect how development teams actually operate, which saves time, reduces costly misalignment, and accelerates revenue growth.
Professional Involvement
I’m active in the iMIS community and serve as the Vice President of the iMIS Users Group, Canada where I help users share knowledge, best practices and real solutions for today’s challenges.

I also serve as a board member on the iMIS Users Group that serves the iMIS community globally.
A Bit More About Me
I’m based in Prince Edward County, Ontario, where I live with my (sometimes overly expressive) canine colleague, Wellington.
Dogs are a special love of mine and for 10 years, I fostered and adopted from Lab Rescue of the LRCP, a rescue group in the Washington, DC area. There I was able to put my fundraising and iMIS skills together once more as a client.
